Easier Sprite Animation
I just began working a Megaman X project a couple of hours ago. I've spent most of my time setting up a sprite sheet to work with Sprite Manager 2. I have everything imported and it's looking good. First things first, I'm gonna get the animations set up correctly before working on movement and actually animating Megaman.
I'm still pretty new and I'm definitely new to Sprite Manager 2 so I apologize if my question is easily answered, but I really would appreciate an answer! Is there an easier way to animate instead of setting up each individual frame as its own animation? I could do that and then be able to handle all of the animations no problem, but that's just tedious and annoying. I'm betting there's a much quicker and more efficient way to do it.
For example, while Megaman is running, he can shoot. I need a way to be able to get the current frame of the animation and switch it to the frame of another animation. Again, if I set each frame as its own animation it'd be easy but tedious. Is there anyway to get the current frame of an animation with Sprite Manager 2? Or perhaps somebody has a better idea or technique for handling animation of sprites?
