impoting huge blend files quickly

Question

Hey devs,
I need a means of quickly importing a .blend file , the mesh is a 1000x1000 vertix grid.
I have tried importing it many times but it takes so long that I always give up and look for a work around . . .
And I can't find a very good one.
Do any of know a good solution ?

Are you trying by FBX??
