Question by EmilBakiyev99 · Jun 26, 2013 at 11:10 PM · demoisland

How to use demos?

I'm currently using Unity 2.5 and I know it is outdated, but I specifically wanted the island demo as I am making a first person shooter. I know that the island demo is built in to 2.5 and is no longer available for download in the latest version. when I first downloaded 2.5, I remember being on the island demo. I don't remember what I clicked or how I did it. I remember messing with it and I messed something up so I just created a new file and could never figure out how to get back to the island demo :( please keep in mind that I am a beginner and I have just installed unity. please give me detailed instructions or a link to a video or tutorial would be nice, thank you for your time.

Should be just opening up unity, click "open project", click "open other", then click the island demo folder which is probably in documents/unityProjects/islandDemo?? then click "select folder" ... Something along those lines.

well go to File(on the top corner of unity) > Open Project there should be some project name listed click on the island demo and click open.

if this does not work then do manually. If you are using windows 7 then go to My computer and on the left sidebar click on the documents. it the documents there should be a folder named Unity Projects(i am using unity 4.1. so not sure about unity 2). go to the unity projects folder and there should be a folder named island demo or whatever, go in that folder after that there should be another folder folder named Assets. in the asset there should be a file(.unity) with unity logo click on it. if there is no(.unity) file then write (.unity) in the search pane. and you will get it.

documents > Unity Progects > Island demo > Assets > (file name).unity

or,

documents > Unity Progects > Island demo > Assets > scene > (file name).unity
