How to increase performance?
So I am somewhat new to Unity3D and pretty new to Game development in general. Please try not to get frustrated with me and please try to help me with my questions. So right now I am looking into occlusion culling and other ways to help improve my game's framerate. One major problem is that I know that the terrain (mainly the trees) is causing low performance. I want to know how to "fix" this. Please, don't take it that I am stupid, just know that I am ignorant, so in all seriousness, help me the best you can.

Go into the camera and change the field of view. Or decrease the amount of trees. Or use textures that aren't as large/detailed. Or of course get a faster computer the BARE MINIMUM for game development is to have a RAM of 1GB or more
Thank you. I have a relatively large "poly" (if that's how you say it) as a background mesh, and I don't think that helps. Anyway, I will do as you say, and thanks again.
