Android build time "Building list of referenced assemblies..."
Hello everyone,
We're currently working on a cross platform project with Unity (iOS, Android, Web) and we also use standalone versions for test purposes.
We took back the project after several months of development by an other team so I don't know how it was before.
Problem is : It takes around 30 minutes to build the Android version where the standalone or webplayer builds take only a couple of minutes. Most of this time is spent on "Building list of referenced assemblies..."
I guess build times can be fairly different between two platforms but this seems way too much and I can't afford such build times. I've been looking around on forums to fix this (at least for development) but nothing seems to really correspond to this specific case.
Or maybe such a difference is normal...?
I'm using Unity Pro 4.2.1 f4.
Any answer is appreciated, thank you!
Edit : I have one scene and "Building Level 0" takes quite a while too...
Did you ever find out why the build times are so long? I've left a simple demo building for over an hour on 4.5, and it still says "Building list of referenced assemblies...". I thought it just got stuck there. Did you fix it?
Hey, I just randomly came back to this thread, not sure your comment still needs an answer VotaVader. This was a while ago but as far as I remember it had to deal with the way we handle heavy assets. Our resources folders were huge and nothing was referenced in the scene. I think that solved most/all the problem to reference graphics in gameobject ins$$anonymous$$d of having them in a dynamic resource folder.
@Xelareip I don't really remember what we did to fix it in the end, but I don't think it was the same problem you had. I believe we didn't get this problem anymore after upgrading to Unity 5. Thank you for co$$anonymous$$g back though, so the info stays here for future reference.
