Unique Identifier iOS
We needs to get a unique identifier from iphone, but Apple will reject all apps that using UDID. What's the solution in Unity?
There is a API SystemInfo.deviceUniqueIdentifier, is it safe to use? There is not much info about it on API page.

it does work absolutely perfectly on 3.5, no problems.

Unfortunately @Fattie answer is not 100% accurate (but thats fine, its a 2 year old response anyway). It is accurate in saying that it is safe, apple approves it and you can use it as you wish... BUT... it forgets to mention that this number gets re-generated every time the user uninstall and installs back your game. If this is not a problem for you, go ahead, but I am still looking for a really persistent solution (and failing)
you're right, all of this answer is utterly outdated
there absolutely IS NOT on either iOS or Android, a way to recognize either devices or "actual users"
if you "don't like this" it's equivalent to saying "oh it annoys me I can't just print dollar bills". :) It's just an absolute, bedrock, basis of the industry.
just forget about it if there is some plan from a client or whatever that "needs" this idea
All you do these days is save the player's data to BAAS, gamestore, whatever. It's just a total non-issue.
{Note, say there happened to be some technical loophole ither apple or android forget about, and this week there was a way to "improperly" as it were access the device/user true identity. O$$anonymous$$, so Apple/Goog would just fix that next week, whatever.)
So, the good news is one can utterly forget about this issue - absolutely nothing to do and no time to spend on it! Heh!
