Using Maya-Skinned Mesh Renderer????
Im having a lil trouble getting the "Skinned Mesh Renderer" to pop up when i import a skinned mesh. This is what im doing...
create simple polygon plane
Insert edge loop tool to add some cuts so the mesh can bend
inset bones using the joint tool, and hit enter when finished
select the bones, shift select the mesh and then skin>bind skin>smooth bind
Export all as .mb/.ma/.fbx file into unity (tried all of them)
what am i doing wrong?

Make sure that your mesh is triangulated When you skin, use no more than 4 influences (The default for smooth skins in Maya is 5) -- change this in the smooth skin options.
