Question by ciabaros · May 27, 2012 at 09:55 PM · wwwsecuritycrossdomaincrossdomain.xmlcrossdomain policy

crossdomain.xml on Server Requiring Basic Authorization

1) The entire server portion of my game is secured (root and all), requiring basic authentication.

2) The game client can live anywhere and should be able to access the server (cross-domain request). Cross domain policy file uploaded [edit].

3) My WWW request has all the proper auth headers set, yet;

4) I can't get past the "Rejected because no crossdomain.xml policy file was found"

I'm not surprised, but can't find a workaround (without lifting auth requirement on the server). The problem is that even though the WWW request has all the auth headers set, the initial check for the crossdoamin.xml file fails because unity doesn't magically know to use the same auth parameters from the request for that file too..

Has anyone solved this problem?

So the server has a crossdomain policy file? You sound like you might know better than me, but I thought that was something the server had to tell the client it's ok to make crossdomain requests from connections to it.

Yes, the crossdomain.xml file is uploaded, and verified (that it works) when auth requirement security is temporarily removed from the site.
