Hunger system help - Money to be made
Hello again guys, I really need some help, and figured since unity has an answers page.. Id ask there. So, I'm Chris from IgnobleArts and to be honest I've no clue how to work on this:
We need a "Hunger system". By that I mean we need a system for our upcoming Steam Greenlight release. Ideally it would contain 2 or more scripts: One of which applied to the player which, when the hunger value decreases to zero (which it must do over a selected amount of time, e.g. 20 mins), places a screen overlay and image effect to the player (we have unity pro). The other script is to be applied, for instance, a can of beans. How this is going to work is, you pick up the food and once its equipped press a key ("K" for instance) and it is consumed raising you "fullness" value (which is to be displayed on you HUD).
Now, this is where things get difficult: If your interested in helping us out please Email or private message because i will have to give you a copy of the FPS system we use so you can set it all up and integrate it. Once its all done you can keep and feel free to use and publish it (only on the asset store, if you make some serious changes, but in your own game is best please). I will include some of our weapon models made by our lovely modeller. They include bump maps, HD textures and so on.
Help is appreciated as none of us have the time to fiddle with scripts at the moment. We have a huge map to complete, 85 weapons to configure, Zombie animations and a menu system to finish in 2 months. When the game is released I will contact you about a 5-6% royalty plan.
Right. Thanks in advance guys :) Looking forward to hearing from you soon, Chris!

Ig, for what it's worth
(A) this is really for forum.unity3d ... not here, which is just for tech questions.
(B) there is a "PAID WOR$$anonymous$$" actual section on unity forum (we've found people by placing ads there)
(C) just purely FWIW .. you're not really offering paid work. It's just a possibility of a percentage on the possibilty that you finish and the (incredibly remote!) possibility it tops the "greenlight" system
(D) you could have this done instantly on freelancer.com (or GetAFreelancer.com or whatever it is called now) in maybe an hour, for about $100 .. $200.
(E) what you are asking is actually extremely trivial.
indeed if you simply search on here you will probably find many scripts like this, all done
So get searchin' !
(F) it's likely an ad$$anonymous$$ will just delete your post here since it's not a tech question. again forum.unity exists for you and this, courtesy unity!
Don't forget you can have something like this done in literally an hour or two on freelancer.com for a few dollars.
Just BTW to be very realistic, nobody would care about an FPS system, I don't think :-)
I hope these notes help! forum.unity3d.com
yea im a bit confused actually. $$anonymous$$ostly in that if you have someone who knows how to script that whole game how you didn't end up with someone who knows how to make a hunger script.
Now the main issue is you said you want the HUD to be intergrated. Which is fine unless your expecting the image to be made by the person. A programmer might take quite awhile to do that.
(an artist could probably go into photoshop and whip up a texture that looks like well hell I have no idea what hunger looks like :P but whatever it is he could have the colored border or whatever you want for an image on the screen in a few $$anonymous$$utes, thats why you have artists and programmers :P)
The issue is that a programmer isn't likely to know all of photoshops various widgets and manipulators well enough to know how to quickly whip an image up.
of course an artist probably doesnt know how silly easy it is to modify an images alpha value based on another objects hunger value.
