Orcs Must Die Camera Style
One thing I really like about the game Orcs Must Die is their level of polish. They spent a lot of time making things look and 'feel' crisp. I was wondering what would be the best way to script a camera controller much like that of Orcs.
I have thought about storing different camera positions and just easing to them, but that wouldn't make it dynamic. You would have to go into the scene and determine which positions to move between.
I thought about storing a reference to the player and depending on the speed start to zoom in or out to a given distance.
What do you think would be the best way to go about this?
EDIT: Totally forgot to add the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZJxkvCT3pk
Pardon the dude's voice, kinda annoying, but the best one I could find to demo the camera style. They also have a free demo on Steam games. FYI
Thanks again, for your time.
Hi there, you assume the reader is familiar with the camera style in the game "Orcs must die". I suggest you add a link to your post so that folks who don't know this game and don't know the camera style to which you refer can see what is meant with as least difficulty as possible.
