When to use AssetDatabase API ?
Hi everyone,
I've been reading about Advanced Editor Topic and particularly, the page about Asset DatabaseAPI drew my attention. I am wondering in which situation would anyone need to use it ? Like, manually importing some arbitrary assets such as texture or whatever. Because to me it seems like a way to work without using Unity the way it should be used. It seems to me that these stuff allow to do many things from scratch in a script without using the editor at all. But the more I read about Unity, the more I understand that doing so is not the best. So I thought there migh be some situations in which you do not really have the choice.
So my question is, in which situation should you use these techniques to use assets ?
