2d iPad game, which language?
Hi guys I've used unity in the past to make a 3D four player racing game. I was the lead artist and project manager on that one. I've dabbled with programing for classes in university (intros in python, C++ and a tiny bit of programing practices and refactoring in C#) but can't remember much. I have a good understanding of the process (eg I can pseudo code and figure I would need this this and then this) but when it comes to sitting down and writing the codes can barely do it.
Basically I want to learn some programing to flesh out a idea I have for an iPad game. It's a 2d car racing team management game. With possible 3D race views.
It would involve many 2D menus, large databases (drivers with all their stats which would change over time, car parts, R&D research etc etc. ) and fairly simple math (but a lot of it) to calculate car and driver performance with many static and variable values.
My question is what would be the best language to invest my time into to make this happen, or Is unity even a really suitable choice for this due to the minimal 3D?
Any comments or further questions would be much appreciated
TL:DR what language in unity would be best for a beginner making a 2D iPad game with big databases of statistics

Well, in fact, there is no "wrong" or "right" language. If you have experience with C#, i would suggest...yeah C# :)
If you feel more comfortable with JS, so go on an do it with JS. There are just a few differences between them, you can look them up in the Unity Script Reference.
