Why can't I add a new layer?
I clicked the layer dropdown in the inspector, chosen add layer.., the numbered layers appeared, but when I clicked on any of them nothing happened. Couldn't rename them, couldn't add them. What can be wrong?
You can't add or remove layers ;) They are always there are exactly 32 of them. You can rename them in the TagManager by selecting a custom layer (layer > 7) and either press F2 or click behind the name.
Or hightlight the Layer name that you want to edit, and click Enter - this should bring up the editable name text window next to the layer.
I could not add a new layer (#8) - there was no a cursor in any of the fields. Just had to restart Unity and it started to work again as usual.
