Question by hypnoslave · Feb 18, 2011 at 11:45 PM · iphonegenerationstatisticsipod

How many iPhone users have first gen devices?

Hey guys, I'm sure this question MUST have been asked but after a lot of googling, I can't seem to find a straight answer anywhere:

What percentage of the iphone/ipod market is using what device?

I'm asking because I'm getting some bad frame rates on my 1st gen ipod and I'm wondering how concerned I need to be about this.

You get an upvote and a star, because I'd like the figures, but iOS devices are considered obsolete after three years. http://www.apple.com/ios/ (See bottom of page.)

Not many. A year ago, there was only 2%, plus 2% who had the ipod touch 1st gen. So that was 4% a year ago. Likely it's way less now.

Its generally accepted to target the Iphone 3GS and above, though there are still a good amount of 3G iphones, but it's hardly worth it, it's so gimped.

Thank you, that helps a lot. I hope i can get a hold of more updated stats soon, but if that's a couple years ago.. man, what a relief.
