Unity Installation Requirements
Hi everyone!
Unity 3.5.1f2 claims it needs 1.6GB to install, and I'm directing it to my D: drive. My C: drive is an SSD and has a whopping 1.5GB available at the moment (yeah, I know, I just need a bigger SSD. It's on the list).
Somehow, despite directing the installer to the D: drive, the installation fails at writing (insert file here) and suddenly I have only a couple of MB remaining on the C: drive. D: has 148 GB to begin with and drops to 145 by the end.
Anybody else run into this problem in the past? Any solutions?
Go to "D:/" and then find your Unity folder and look for a unistaller, if there is none, then just delete the unity folder and try again. Redownload the Install file without and pauses or anything. Then reinstall.

The example project is always installed to your C: drive (in fact it is always installed to the drive where the 'Users' folders lie). Try installing witout the example project.
That looks to be a culprit, but there's definitely some other issue. After getting it installed last night (I freed up enough space for it to finish with about 100 megs to spare), I come on this morning to find the C: drive happily stating it has 1.5 GB remaining. A number of temporary files must be placed on the C: drive for installation and removed afterward... not sure if that's an issue with the Unity installer or with installers in general, though I haven't run into it in the past. As a matter of fact, it's probably because the Unity installer has to access files from the web, which get placed in a temp folder, which for various reasons is still on my C: drive and not symlinked to the D: drive.
One of these days I'm going to run out of programs to remove while making space for this stuff! For now, I'll just move the example project to my D: drive and make a symlink for safety.
Thanks for your help!
