Creating a stand-alone player or launcher for my game in VB
Hello.
I am trying to create a seperate launcher for my game in Visual Basic because I don't like the launcher that Unity gives you. I have pretty much done the 'Launching' part and I was wondering how I would go about adding some options for Resolution etc.
Is this even possible? Creating a launcher in Visual Basic with an ability to launch with a selected Resolution?
Yes it's fully possible. You just have to create a platform where Unity reads and writes the same way your 3rd-party application does. This could be as simple as storing the variables in an X$$anonymous$$L, the registry or even a text file. Although it might be a more neat - and nevertheless easier - implementation to just change this from a setting in-game. $$anonymous$$ostly a user would want to run at highest native resolution possible with all effects on, in other words launch the app without digging into choices and get ga$$anonymous$$g.
