joystick num order ?

Hi,

How actually is decided the joystick ordering in the input variables? I bump into this issue and wonder how I can explain the user or script my code so that I can rely on the fact that both the author and the player think and use the same joysticks.

I have a complex rig that requires two joystick to manipulate it ( excavator simulator)

Now how do I explain the user what do to with his joysticks so that joystick 1 is indeed the joystick he will have on his right hand and joystick two on his left hand?

a bit stuck with this, any help appreciated,
