Creating a Shade that functions as a Lamp Shade
I want to design windows for my game objects that mimic a real lit source for example a light bulb underneath a lamp shade where the light shines through the shade and will dissapate based upon the type of material added to the shade.
Is there any material that functions in such manner.
Such a use would be to create an oval object place a light source inside of the oval object then add the material with a texture where the texture would determine the overall glow effect.
I know that this effect can be created using lighting on the outside of the object but what about from the inside of the object?
Something you may not have thought about: texture the light shade appropriately outside of Unity (e.g. GI$$anonymous$$P or photoshop). $$anonymous$$ake the lamp shade invisible to the light source (either have it facing out from the light source or put it on a different layer). Then, use a light cookie to adjust the light being cast from that light source.
