Timing multiple events at certain times?

What I'm wondering is, is there a way to make several different things happen at certain times, like an animation that handles multiple objects and changes? I have this elevator: alt text

And I'd like for the game to start a elevator audio clip I made, and have the buttons on the elevator interior to light up (showing what floor the elevator is on), at certain times, and then near the end (not the end though), I want the elevator doors to open. Now I know I can do this with code, just get the normalized value of the audio clip, and basically

 if(normalizedtime == timeToMakeStuffHappen) {
     //Do the stuff
 }

But I was wondering if there is a way to handle these different actions in a different way, avoiding scripting it?

That's what scripts are for... You can make your animation to trigger events.. But still, you have to write code..

I know that. I was wondering if there was another way inside Unity. Since they have pretty awesome stuff to use, I was pondering if they had something for that too.
