Really want to get into Unity but dont understand coding

Really want to get into Unity but every tutorial I go through shows code but doesn't explain what it does/why it is written like that and what It does because I want to create my own game eventually but just copying someones code doesn't get me any closer to understanding how it works and therefore I have no idea how Id apply it to my own game. Sorry if this sounds completely confusing. I am currently wanting to create a game on the 2D side of Unity, is there any tutorials that goes into detail code wise? Wether Java or C++ I dont mind.
