How to make my animated axe collide with tree properly??
I have been trying everything I can think of to make this work properly.. I'v tried using triggers and colliders in different ways, i'v tried adding a mesh that is a child of the axe with the mesh renderer turned off to be used for the collision, none of these things seem to work just right. I can get it to work 50% of the time but that's it. All I want to do is subtract hitpoints from the tree when the axe touches it, that's it.. I must be missing something because how hard could this be? every rpg game ever made uses this dynamic. If anyone has found the best way for doing this i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
You're going to have to describe your problem. All you've said is essentially 'it doesnt work', which doesn't give us anything to go on.
Not clear if you tried this already but the game I'm working on is using colliders AND rigidbodies to get the animated weapon to hit and inflict damage. Should work.
