How to unsheathe sword

Hello,

I want to unsheathe a sword and hold in in the right hand. Otherwise it should stay near to the players hip. Do you have some suggetions how to do it?

I thought of parenting the sword to the bones of the charakter and change it by script.

But is there a better way?

Thank you

0tacun

Parent the sword to a empty-object-placeholder/bone of the character's hand is the way to go.

$$anonymous$$ore or less. Just put it in a suitable location then parent the sword to the hip bone. If you have a bone for the sword (with proper location and rotation), you can parent the sword to the bone, then set the local position and local rotation of the sword itself to zero, then you will always sheath your sword nicely and perfectly aligned.
