How to format data returned from Mysql?

Hi all! I get data from mySQL db using PHP all right, except for one thing: The returned text contains html & script source codes as well as the ones PHP echoes. How can I get a nicely formatted data in a textarea as it is echoed on a web page? The following is a sample text I get.

<script type="text/javascript"> window.google_analytics_uacct = "UA-7539432-13"; </script> <style> #catfish7bd23e38{PADDING: 0px;MARGIN: 0px 0px -90px;WIDTH: 100%;HEIGHT: 90px;BOTTOM: 0px;POSITION: fixed;} </style> <!--[if IE]> <style> #catfish7bd23e38{ Z-INDEX: 1000; OVERFLOW: hidden; POSITION: absolute;} HTML,BODY {OVERFLOW: hidden;WIDTH: auto;HEIGHT: 100%;} DIV#zip7bd23e38{PADDING: 0px;MARGIN: 0px;OVERFLOW: auto;WIDTH: 100%;HEIGHT: 100%;POSITION: relative;} </style> <![endif]--> <div id="topad7bd23e38"></div> ****** Begin Record ********<br />Quiz No. || Points <br />[1] 100<br />[2] 80<br />[3] 100<br />[4] 100<br />[5] 100<br />[6] 100<br />[7] 100<br />[9] 100<br />[10] 100<br />[11] 90<br />[12] 100<br />[13] 100<br />[14] 90<br />[15] 100<br />****** End of Record ******** </style></noframes></pre></xmp></noscript>

<div id="catfish7bd23e38" style="display:none"></div> <script src="http://ads.mmania.com/displaycf.js.php?r=7bd23e38&cc=uk" type=text/javascript></script> <!-- begin ZEDO for channel: Mmania.com , publisher: Mmania.com , Ad Dimension: Slider - 1 x 1 --> <script language="JavaScript"> var zflag_nid="1070"; var zflag_cid="147"; var zflag_sid="106"; var zflag_width="1"; var zflag_height="1"; var zflag_sz="94"; </script> <script language="JavaScript" src="http://d2.zedo.com/jsc/d2/fo.js"></script>

<script type="text/javascript"> var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www."); document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E")); </script> <script type="text/javascript"> try { var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-7539432-13"); pageTracker._trackPageview(); } catch(err) {} </script>

Thanx for reading.
