fire spell
i'm trying to use a particle system for this effect. only problem is that the beam is very wide and i don't know how to narrow it down. it looks like that the particles are to far apart. how can i bring them closer together? for a bit more info:the closest thing i can think of is the fire spell in skyrim

For a moving object, trailing fire, some tricks to use:
o Shrink the ellipsoid size. Will cause particles to pop up closer to the center area.
o Increase emitter velocity scale. This is how much particles follow the thing that spawned them (well, sort of.) Increasing can cluster them more, hiding gaps.
o Create a second emitter which makes long rectangular particles. Change (at the bottom, in the renderer) StretchParticles to Stretched (instead of billboard) and set Velocity Scale. By itself, that looks kind of bad -- you can see way too many edges. But with a normal emitter, it makes a solid trail.
