Lightprobes[Pro] vs double lights[free]
Hello guys!
Could you please explain to me the difference in the two possible situations?
situation 1:
Lightmapping is used on the level. A second light is made and is placed on the position of a bake light. Now the baked level will also have a real-time shadows and lighting cast apron non-static objects + have ambient occlusion and global illumination from Lightmapping.
situation 2:
Light probes are used and non-static objects use them.
Why is situation 2 better than situation 1, that is Unity has spent so much effort on light probes? Is there a very big jump in productivity from situation 1 to situation 2?
Thank you very much!
Wow. ok old question and no one answered it. Probes are easier on the CPU as far as i know. Plus with the two lights thing, when your non static goes in-shade, it won't show that on the model. But with a probe it will. It will give it the brightness it needs.
