Unity engine work on Android 2.2 based on Intel x86 system?

Hi! I'm a developer in Korea.

We have a plan to develop a settop-box with Android 2.2.

For the performance issue, we will use Intel i3 processor(x86 platform).

And we need 3D game engine for some 3D contents.

Does Unity engine work on Android 2.2 based on Intel x86 system,

and support .XNB file format(we use XNA environment)?

Please answer me as soon as possible!

No. From our System Requirements:

Android authored content requires devices equipped with:

  • Android OS 2.0 or later
  • Device powered by an ARMv7 (Cortex family) CPU
  • GPU support for OpenGLES 2.0 is recommended

I can confirm it really doesn't work, at least on an intel android device I've got here... But would you happen to know why does it even have an option under build settings to set architecture to x86?

Galaxy tab 3 does have intel, but it's different from previous intel tablets. It plays unity games, as you said, compiled for arm. They must have some trick on that new chip.
