Best way to approach flight?

Hi there,

I'm trying to make a game where the player plays as a small ship, with 5 engines.

The trouble is, that the movement I'm envisioning might be a bit difficult.

I'm looking to have 4 downward engines for lift, and one pointing backwards for thrust.

So, the goals/rules of this ship would be:

  • Gravity does apply, and eventually air resistance will stop the craft

  • To corner, the player would need to tilt back and roll

  • The craft can stop and hang in midair

  • The speed of movement would depend on how much thrust is given to the back thruster

How would I best model this, by using AddForce? I also want to assume the craft is a Rigidbody so it can collide.
