Unity Conversion
Alright so I made a game and when I go to file->build it builds a unity file so I can run the game in an independent platform but when its on my desktop I cannot upload it to steam so I wanted to ask can I extract or convert the unity file to a .exe file or something like that so I can upload it to steam? and so far everyone I send it to cannot play it because they don't have unity but when they get unity it works fine to how do I convert it? thanks :)
If you build a unity project you should get a .exe and a data folder.
I only get one thing and thats not a .exe its the thing with the unity symbol and you can't upload that to s$$anonymous$$m for some reason it doesn't work
What do you have the platform set to? Go to File / Build Settings. The left list is the major platform type. If you have that set to PC, $$anonymous$$ac, Linus stand alone then check the drop down to the right. It has the option for Windows, $$anonymous$$ac, etc. If you are building PC / Windows then you will get an EX$$anonymous$$
Alright it's a .exe file but it's not letting me do anything with it I can't upload it to s$$anonymous$$m people without unity can't play it for some reason and I can't figure out whats wrong
When building for Windows, an exe and a _data folder should be created. You will need to share both of these for anyone to be able to play your game on another Windows machine. The easiest way to handle this would be to zip the exe and data folder together to distribute.
