Publishing my game to Steam

hey ,

i want to know what's the minimum requirement for submitting a game into steam ?

do i have to Buy Unity Pro ? or do i have to be in an official company ? and if i could submit my game in steam without a pro version .. could i create steam achievements ?

Technically, you would need a publishable game. You may need to integrate it in some fashion into S$$anonymous$$m.

Valve would require you to demonstrate your game to them through a presentation (ah! $$anonymous$$arketing!). They would need to play your game for approval. If Valve approves (days, weeks, months?), then you would need to speak to them about how to integrate your game into S$$anonymous$$m. ...Not to mention legal documentation you'd need to review (please get a business lawyer to help!).

A demonstration, approval, and legal process takes time. There is not an immediate upload and publish system with Valve, unlike Google and the Android market.

You do need Pro in order to integrate the necessary S$$anonymous$$m code. But more than that, you need a sufficiently impressive game to begin with. Worrying about S$$anonymous$$m achievements is something you do later, after you have a game accepted, so Pro is probably the least of your concerns.

You need to get a S$$anonymous$$m Greenlight submission fee. When Buying S$$anonymous$$m Greenlight Fee,You Can "Upload Games To S$$anonymous$$m" You Don't Need Unity Pro Or anything To do with the engine you're developing on. This isn't so much a Unity question, as it is a Steam question. Unity just creates the executable, it doesn't tell you how to publish it. Presumably the Steam stuff needs you to be able to load in a plugin, so you may need Pro just for that.
