TerrainToolkit slows down terrain texture painting
Hi there!
I noticed that after generating a procedural terrain texture with the TerrainToolkit script, painting additional details into the terrain texture by hand gets extremely slow.
Does anybody know what the TerrainToolkit does to cause this behavior? Are there any workarounds or solutions to this problem?
Thanks! vv

Try removing the terrain toolkit script from your terrain before handpainting it. The splatmap is still there and independant of the terrain toolkit after its generated.
Hey dre, thanks for your answer!
Unfortunately, I've tried that already. It makes no differnce, whether the script is on the terrain or not. As soon as the procedural texture is applied it's slow and stays slow (as far as i can tell).
The only workaround I've found so far is to export the splatmap and heightmap (with two scripts I downloaded) and set up a completely new terrain with them. Then the painting works again with decent, in time feedback.
Addition to the above comment: the export/import of the splat and heightmap is a tedious workaround, and I'm looking for another one!
