Destroy 3D text?
Is there a relativly easy way to destroy 3D text? Would it be best to create one normal and the an animation of it breaking apart in Maya. or In a perfect world to have the back wall in the explosion framework be 3d text. http://unity3d.com/support/resources/unity-extensions/explosion-framework

If you mean destroy in like, falling to pieces, then yes, you'd have to animate it...
Now, if you mean just have an explosion effect, then in the end see pieces/rubble, or even it disappeared, then yes, you can use the explosion-framework link you provided...
Hope that helps!!
