How heavy are animations on GPU/CPU ?
I have a prefab that contains 3 animations (2 animations run constantly while the object is in game). This itself isn't a real problem but at times there could be as many as 12 of these prefabs in the scene. Would this impact heavily on game performance. This is going to be for PC/Mac, not tablets, phones or like.

Not very heavy. How heavy, exactly? Use the profiler (or just look at the stats window).
