Do joysticks only work in the desktop version???
I came across this in the Unity manual:
"Note: Keyboard, joystick and gamepad input works only on the desktop version of Unity."
I was a little bummed out because the game I'm making is supposed to be played through a browser with a joystick (I know you can download Xpadder and map the kayboard controls but then you get absolute controls with no inbetweens)
But then I saw this under a list of things that were fixed for version 2.0:
"Joystick and gamepad buttons work correctly in Windows web player."
So do joysticks only work in the desktop version or not?

The webplayer is the desktop version. Desktop = Mac/PC. As opposed to iPhone, Android, etc. You're apparently confusing desktop with standalone.

If that's in the Manual (I suppose you have the latest version of Unity), joystick Does work on the desktop version..
Ow, and, since we're currently in version 3.4, and the "Joystick and gamepad buttons work correctly in Windows web player." is a fix for 2.0, I'll put my money on it that they didn't change that in the higher versions.
