Question Regarding "Stretched" Particles in the Particle Renderer
Hello everyone, I was working with the particle system (using the legacy system for the moment), to create a "water splash" effect (like something was dropped into water and spray is kicked up).
When using the "Billboard" mode, everything goes fine....water spawns, rises slightly, then falls down according to the forces I have applied to it. But when I go to Stretched mode (just wanting to change the shape of the water spray to a more vertical one instead of a square one), the textures start to do this crazy rotation / pivot, starting upside down, then rotating off axis until is reaches an upright position as it ends.......huh? I was expecting for the image to do the same motion as before, just scale vertically instead of remaining a square...clearly I was wrong. Any advice on how to fix this / or a workaround to achieve the same result?
Check the start rotation (0) and the particle system shape (square)
$$anonymous$$ade the equivalent changes in legacy, particles spawn upside down and backwards, and any force still causes a spin.
Tried your settings in the current system, particles still spin once any force is applied.
Guess stretching is only intended for "fire and smoke" type effects?
In the Render component "Stretch Particles" it is just called "Stretched" (along with Billboard, Sorted Billboard, Horizontal Billboard and Vertical Billboard).
Interestingly enough, both Billboard and Vertical Billboard also have a "Length Scale", but images are not effected by their values.
