Depth mask Portal Method.

Hello, I was someone could give me some info on how to do the method in the following video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0bSz70erCo

I have gotten the depth mask shader but I am not sure how to do the seamless transition between the two spaces. any feedback is appreciated.
