Question by ikriz · Dec 29, 2011 at 09:06 PM · errornavmeshmodelnavigation

Error occurs while connecting the polygon contour.

During the generation of the Navmesh I recieve the following error:

Error occurs while connecting the polygon contour.

Is this a result of a bad 3D model? or something else? And can anyone explain whats happening behind the polygon contour?

It sounds like an internal problem when baking the navmesh. Please submit a bug-report with a project/scene giving this error

I found that removing the 'offmeshlink generation' option from most of the objects (other than the key 'base' navigation meshes) solved the 'polygon contour issue, but I'm running into issues with my navmeshagent AI, where they won't navigate to points on the navmesh when directed and/or will get 'stuck' in areas after navigating to the area.

Not sure what's up with this, but it worked perfectly fine in previous versions. Please fix whatever you did to the navigation system - we've gone too far down the road of using this system to have to throw it out and find another solution... ;}

In which version did you have this working correctly ? I'd very much like to fix this issue - however I really need a reproduction case in order to get to the bottom of this - Off$$anonymous$$eshLink generation is not related to the navmesh contour building - the cause must be indirect.

Cheers.. /Jakob

also getting the same error in 4.1.3, previously worked fine with older versions.

breaks the navmeshagent behavior - even though the editor shows me the navmesh, the agent's can't navigate to various points on the navmesh. very frustrating.

will try and submit a bug ticket
