HDRP Decal projection from mesh shape, e.g. for creating a winding road
Is it possible to have a custom mesh as a projector for decals in HDRP, rather then just a square. One usage for this is to have spline tool that creates a road surface that winds along the terrain hovering slightly above the terrain mesh (either a Unity Terrain, an imported FBX terrain, or a procedural generated mesh) and projecting a road material down to the terrain?
Here is an example in CryEngine 3.

Hello, did you ever figure out a way to do this? I've been googling this for weeks and have tried a hundred different things. But for URP.
