Asset server on Ubuntu 12.04 amd64

I posted this in the community Forums, and as I'm just new to this whole thing didn't realise that this would be a better stop to post it.

The post I replied to This one... had some extra package dependencies listed at the bottom that worked for him. I tried adding those packages and rebuilding, but I keep getting an error in the install.sh script right at the end.

 Initializing Asset Server database for the first time: Initializing Asset Server data directory...
 Ambiguous output redirect.
 * * [FAILED]

Same thing after manually trying to start the service. The ambiguous redirect... which says to me that something is being piped somewhere that it doesn't like in the shell script, but be damned if I can locate it.

It does continue to the admin password, which can be set successfully, but then I get an

 psql: could not connect to server: No such file or directory
         Is the server running locally and accepting
         connections on Unix domain socket "/tmp/.s.PGSQL.10733"?

So, perhaps it is trying to pipe a config to the psql server to initallaly set it up?

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really like to get this up and running.
