How many can I get away with?
I'm working on an iphone game. It's a straight-line racing game. The scenery is twenty vertices (five faces, it's just five textured planes), but the car is 11,592 vertices (13,840 faces). In the game, the scene will move past the car (either accelerating or decelerating), and the camera will rotate around the car, while the wheels turn. I know the polycount is high (quite a bit over the 7,000 poly "max"), but with so little going on, and only one object, I was wondering wether it would be possible to get it to run at a playable framerate.
Attached is a picture of the car model. Everything used has been modeled using blender.

You might want to set the polys to 'smooth' rather than 'solid' shading
