Resolution, camera size and 3D game objects
The task sounds simple, but I just can't figure out how to do it. I need my camera to always show the same portion of the scene, no matter the resolution. I attached a picture to help visualise my problem. The first pic shows a render of a simple scene with 2 red cubes on a green plane on a 1680x1050 resolution. The second one shows the same scene on 800x600 resolution, where the right cube disappeared out of view. The third one is again 800x600 after playing with some code that tries to tie the camera size to the resolution, which helped with the disappearing red cube, but also added some black bars on the top and bottom of the view, which i need to fill with the stretched contents of the scene. What is the most reasonable way to go about it?
You do realize though that if you stretch it your rectangle will be a square, all your proportions will change. I'm not exactly sure how to do this, but if I do see anything about it I will post it.
