All prefabs losing their meshes

Question

Hey all, I'm having an issue, this is the 3rd or 4th time it's happened. Randomly, usually after a computer kernel panic, all my prefabs lose the links to the individual model meshes. So all my prefabs and models still exist, but I have to manually set the individual meshes again for each prefab component (which takes 2-3 hours). Has anyone seen this behavior before or know what's causing it?

thats caused by your hardware. the kernel panic potentially is caused by the harddisk in which case it might very well have happened when unity tried to write out the state. if that happens the "setup is fucked up" if it hits the library.

Thanks for the answer, that kind of sucks :(. Running on a $$anonymous$$ac Pro with a bad processor so I kernel panic a few times a day. I'd think that I'd be able to revert from an old save of the project, but even then the meshes are still missing.
