SDK fail to extract, incorrect format

Hi,

I'm relatively new to Unity dev but I have built and run a few basic apps for my android which run fine, however, all of a sudden im getting this error:

Failed to extract Android SDK Platform version from string 'R', Input string was not in a correct format. System.Threading.ThreadHelper:ThreadStart()

I have redownloaded SDK version 7 - 9 (24 - 29), started several new projects and also went back to previous projects that build to Android fine, all gave this error

Could someone please give me a hand?
