Make a hidden layer of objects and show them when needed?
Hello everyone! I have a type of objects which have inputs and outputs I can connect wires to. When connecting wire to an input or an output, I would like them to be highlighted. And I've come up with a solution like this: all the inputs and outputs create "highlight objects" on another layer, which is usually hidden, but when the script of creating a wire is running, it will be shown: inputs and outputs will be highlighted. What I expect is: in Unity there is Sorting Layers and Layers, but the thing I need is Layers, probably; when I place objects of a type, mentioned above, it creates (edited copies?) of its inputs and outputs on a "Highlights" layer; then, when placing wires, I change the main camera component to show the "Highlights" layer and then hide it. It sounds okay in my mind, but, probably, there are better solutions. So, I need help with that, either with the method I mentioned, or maybe with implementing other methods you think of. I will really appreciate that!
