Android app size after installation, 4.3 is 2 times larger than 4.2
Hi guys,
My app's normal apk size is 24MB. When I installed on an Android phone, total size is almost the same until Unity 4.2.2. Today I tested Unity 4.3.0 and 4.3.1 and found that app size is 24MB as it was but total size on the phone is 48MB, almost double.
Is this only happen to me or anyone else got this issue? Please help me! :)
Sounds like textures are not compressed on the latter build.
Please check Unity log file to see info about assets included in build and their sizes.
Both me and everyone else I know who's using Unity are having the same problem. The apk file is the same size, however, once installed it's now 150% bigger than it was before upgrading from 4.2 to 4.3.
Same here. Unity 4.2: AP$$anonymous$$ size 9$$anonymous$$B, install size on phone around the same. 4.3: AP$$anonymous$$ size still 9$$anonymous$$B, but installed size on phone is now over 20$$anonymous$$B. What gives?
i think i saw someone having the same problem on a forum post, we might have to just wait until they fix it before we build apks to actually use, it cant be on purpose and permanent right?
