Assets license check
Hi all, Previously all assets I (and companies where I worked) was using were made by myself or coworkers - so there could be no copyright validity checks. This time I and few other people are working on small project - call it hobby. And we are considering using purchased third party assets for our project. This is new situation for me and I want to clarify everything before I make a step. Some of my friends already have purchased assets from different stores, including unity and I admit using them would greatly reduce development time and costs, but I am not sure how much hassle is this. As I said this is new thing for me and I am not sure how this system works. For example if I use some model made by some guy, should I notify him? Probably not. What about if he asks for license details, should I have lengthy e-mail conversations - getting license details from license owner friend and sending to them. Or could Unity guys contact us and ask for license details etc. etc. Generally speaking how much hassle it may be? As I said using third party assets would be very useful and profitable, but if it is too much hassle I would prefer to stick with our own assets. I know here are many developers who already published many games and I would ask them: does it worth it? How problematic validating licenses thing can be?
