Unity/Mapbox Location Based Game "Tile Overlay" / "Fog of war"
I'm very new to Unity, but trudging through well enough. As the title states, I'm attempting to make a location-based exploration type game requiring the player to uncover the map from a fog of war type overlay.
To complicate matters, I would want each tile of the fog of war to be unique, so that I would know if Player A uncovered it or if Player B uncovered it.
To further complicate things, I'm using mapbox, and would want each tile to be able to pull mapbox information (city, state, country, water, park, etc.) to help differentiate tiles.
Most of my problem is not knowing correct terminology to be able to google the correct things. I don't know if there's an array function that could do what I want, or if each 'tile' of the fog of war needs to be placed separately. I can't imagine doing it all manually being the only way, but still.
