Why are my lightmaps so splotchy?
I'm 99% sure the problem is with my UVs. In the import section of my model, I've enabled "Generate Lightmap UV". I'm not a modeler, so if the problem is with my UVs, how would I fix that?

Try increasing the final gather rays number under the lightmapping window. A 500+ amount usually works fine.
Is it possible for you to give a screenshot of your lightmapping window?
