Best Practice: Game Data Human in Readable Format
Fairly new, I've got all my classes set up. Now just trying to figure out how to actually set them up. Ideally I'd like to be able to just set up a csv file or something full of definitions, such as:
Name: Black Hat Cyber Solutions
Market: IT Value: Agendas[]: {etc, etc, etc}
Name: Surefire Security Market: Consumer Discretionary Value: SomeValue Agendas[]: {etc, etc, etc}
And then when the game loads it would pick X number of them at random to reference and assign random relations scores with the player.
From what I have found, it sounds like I am looking at storing such things via XML/JSON, but that's a bit more complicated than a simple human friendly spreadsheet, is it not? I mean at that point would i be just as well odd storing all this data within a class as a variety of structs or something similar?
