Unity Editor for Linux is stuck on gettingStarted screen
I'm trying to use Unity on Linux, but it doesn't work. The problem is this blackish gray screen with the title of "gettingStarted." It's blank and doesn't do anything. It just stays there and doesn't load Unity. Another thing to note is that this blank screen somehow also has high CPU usage. When it's open, my laptop's fan spins a lot. As soon as I close it, the fan stops.
When I restart Unity, I get a new screen, that says "recent." It has the same problem as the gettingStarted screen. Other people have had this problem, with the solution of running the command: mkdir -p ~/.local/share/unity3d/Packages. This doesn't work. I also have npm and nodejs installed. If it's important, I use Ubuntu 16.04.
