Unity 3D Hang after Lightmapping > Bake Scene?

I am using Unity 4.3.4f1 (Mac OS X version) with Pro license.

I have a 3D scene with around 176k vertices / 140 triangles ( a 3D street view of few blocks ). When I click Lightmapping > Bake Scene, it starts loading at the lower right corner.

After some hours later, the progress seems to be completed. Unity starts to re-import Assets.

At that time, I found that there is a new folder created in the Asset list, with folder name same as my scene name. There are around 800 Lightmapping items ( e.g. LightmapFar-1.exr ).

However, Unity crashes very soon when I re-open the Scene. After re-opening the Unity project, the scene can be loaded successfully, but the Lightmaps seem to have no effect on the scene, and the Draw Calls didn't lower.

How can I know is the Lightmapping work or not ? If the Lightmapping is not working, how can I make use of those .exr files?

You should be able to tell if the light mapping is not actually working by removing lights from your scene. With the lights not longer there, you should still see that the objects are lit. $$anonymous$$ake sure that objects that are dynamic are not included in the lightmapping. It should only be the static objects.

Tested. When lights are off, light mapping isn't there. I guess the hang ruined the process.
